The Church of St. Anne is the best preserved Crusader church in Jerusalem. It marks the home of the Virgin Marys maternal parents, Anne and Joachim. This church is renowned for its beautiful acoustics. This site is the birthplace of the Virgin Mary.

An angel appeared, Telling Anne that she would conceive
Another angel told Joachim, his prayers were heard
A child would be born, And be spoken of in all the world
Their child would come, And be devoted to the Lord
When the babe appeared, She was given the name Mary
Who could have known, She would birth the Lord of all
With faith and joy, Her parents offered her to God above
Their sinless child, Would embrace His call
At three years young, She was presented in the temple
Where the angels loved, And protected her so well
With Grace from the Lord, Grace which blessed her life and guided her
