The Last Supper

The Upper Room

Here in the Cenacle, the Upper Room, Jesus, with His twelve disciples, institutes the Eucharist. Our bread of life, the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. He tells us to “Do this in remembrance of me.” This meal later became known as the Last Supper. Jesus also told His disciples at this table that one of them would betray Him.

Matthew 26:17–30, Mark 14:12–26, Luke 22:7–39, John 13:1–17:26

Lyrics

Eat His body drink His blood
With which He paid the price
Eat His body drink His blood
Given freely by our Lord Jesus Christ

He gives us the finest wheat
And the purest honey
His gift that is oh so sweet and can’t be bought
Can’t be bought with money

He gives us the blessed cup
The cup which brings salvation
His presence will lift us up
Eternal elation

Eat His body drink His blood
With which He paid the price
Eat His body drink His blood
Given freely by our Lord Jesus Christ

This is the living bread
That came down from heaven
Whoever eats this bread
Will live forever

Through this meal you are in me
And I in you
Do this and remember me
This gift will see you through

Do this and remember me
Do this and remember me
Do this and remember me
Do this and remember me
